A Certified Nursing Assistant, or nursing aide as they are sometimes known, holds an understated yet crucially important role in the day-to-day operative functioning of the entire health care field. Medical terminology, nutrition, legal and ethical responsibilities, gerontology, and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation are just some of the many areas covered in detail.

There are too many approved Certified Nursing Assistant classes in Florida to list them all here, but each and every one of them will offer students the required knowledge and skills to take the certification exam and become a fully qualified CNA. Any course will combine classroom lecture-style learning with clinical hands-on experience, in equal measure. A significant amount of time is also always devoted to laboratory work. Finding the right CNA training program for you is likely to depend on a number of factors. If you’re working during the day, then look for a course which offers evening classes. If you’re available throughout the day and just want to get the skills quickly, perhaps an intense 1 month ‘flash’ course would be best, whereas the long, progressive and drawn-out 4-6 month courses would suit others better. Any approved CNA course in Florida will teach you the fundamentals in patient care, interpersonal skills, safety techniques, infection control, medical terminology, nutrition, vital signs and CPR, usually in addition to a range of subsidiary subjects which are also important. Any program will require at least 120 hours of training in total.
